Unlike other festivals, SFDR participants arrive with a welcome and orientation at noon and then are on their way to whatever workshop they wish to attend. No pre-registration per workshop is needed.* It’s all very casual and relaxed.
The Stephen Foster Dulcimer Retreat features six scheduled workshop sessions across Friday and Saturday, with three sessions each day. Whether you’re a beginner, a seasoned player or somewhere in between, you’ll find classes covering foundational strumming, clean melodies, chord-melody playing, blues, flatpicking, groove, embellishments, harmony, fiddle tunes, spirituals and playing confidently in a jam.
